THE GAELIC LEAGUE AND THE GAA

The IRB were influential in many cultural and national organisations. Most of the leaders like Pearse, Plunket and McDonagh were fluent Irish speakers and were members of the Gaelic League.

The Gaelic Athletic Association (the GAA) was formed by Cusack in November 1884.
